Arequipa has many colonial churches and mansions, including the Convent of Santa Catalina, Arequipa is known as the White City because of its many buildings made of a white ashlar stone, three volcanoes dominate the scenery: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. To the north of Arequipa is the spectacular Colca Valley, a picturesque Andean valley with small villages founded during the colonial period, which houses some of the deepest canyons such as the Colca Canyon and home to the majestic condor.
Day 1: Arequipa
Reception and welcome of our travelers at Arequipa airport, then transfer them to their respective hotels. In the afternoon we will make a three-hours excursion through the city of Arequipa, visiting the Santa Catalina Convent, Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas, the Jesuit church of La Compañía, the church of San Francisco. To have views of the city, we will visit the typical districts of Cayma and Yanahuara. Return to the hotel.
Day 2: Arequipa / Colca Canyon
Departure to the Colca Canyon at 08.30 a.m. During the tour, we will visit La Reserva Nacional, Pampa Cañahuas Reserve of Vicuñas, (mate of coca). Toccra (Migratory birds are appreciated), Patapampa, Mirador de los Andes (view of the mountains and volcanoes of the region as the Ampato, Hualca-Hualca) Arriving later to the village of Chivay, accommodation in the chosen accommodation, buffet lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Baños de La Calera where we will enjoy a refreshing thermal bath, and at night we will have dinner accompanied by folk groups.
Day 3: Colca Canyon
After breakfast, we will leave at 06.00 am, to go to the viewpoint of the Cross of the Condor, to appreciate the depth of the Canyon and the spectacular flight of the condors, after staying approximately 2.00 hours. We will visit the typical villages of Yanque, Pinchillo, Maca, view of the impressive andenerias, Pre-Inca Stones models, Hanging Tombs, arriving at Chivay for lunch, then continue the trip to Arequipa to spend the night.
Day 4: Arequipa
We will visit the traditional village of Paucarpata, located 7 km from Arequipa, where we will appreciate pre-Inca andeneria, then en route to Molino de Sabandía (construction dating from the sixteenth century) and the Mansion of the Founder (colonial house that preserves ornaments Of colonial and republican origin), El Mirador Sachaca where we will observe the city and its countryside. At last, we transfer our visitors to the airport or departure point.
